City Council Initiative

Supported by City Council discretionary funding, 13 organizations in this network have been working since fiscal year 2015 to build and grow worker cooperatives across the City through the Worker Cooperative Business Development Initiative.

The Initiative created 21 worker cooperatives and created 141 jobs in its first year. In its second year, Read more about the Initiative's work in these annual reports produced by the Department of Small Business Services, the agency that administers the Initiative.

In June of 2017, the City Council reaffirmed its belief in our work by enhancing our funding. The work thus continues; visit this page for updates on our progress.
